About

JUB STUDIO is a London-based architectural practice founded in 2014 by Joe Hutton and Anita Bergamini. The studio works on heritage-led architecture, with a particular focus on listed buildings, conservation areas, and historically sensitive sites.

We bring together architectural design, planning strategy, and conservation understanding to support projects from early feasibility through to consent and delivery. Our work ranges from residential projects within conservation areas to complex historic and industrial buildings, where careful analysis and collaboration are essential.

A core strength of the practice is navigating planning and listed building consent for sensitive proposals. We take a research-led approach, grounding design decisions in an understanding of historic fabric, significance, and context, while responding to contemporary needs for use, performance, and sustainability.

Joe Hutton is an Architect registered with the Architects Registration Board, a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a Full Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC). His work is informed by ongoing professional development in conservation practice and close collaboration with conservation officers, heritage consultants, and specialist contractors.

Feasibility studies and early-stage advice
Planning and listed building consent
Repair, adaptation, and contemporary intervention in sensitive contexts
We work closely with clients, consultants, and local authorities to unlock opportunities in complex heritage settings and deliver sensitive, well-considered outcomes.

Approach
We combine careful research, site analysis, and an understanding of historical significance with contemporary architectural thinking. This allows us to respond sensitively to an existing asset and its context while developing a brief with our clients, meeting modern requirements for use, comfort, and sustainability.
