A vibrant new mixed-use building in Higham Hill, London, combining commercial and residential functions within an expressive architectural form. The project transforms a challenging urban site into a place that contributes positively to the regeneration of the area.
The scheme is designed to be both contemporary and durable, employing sustainable construction systems and robust materials. Corrugated perforated metal cladding brings texture and resilience, while vertical vegetation softens the built form and introduces greenery into the street environment.
The façade plays with depth and transparency, breaking down the massing through layers of light and shadow. This dynamic treatment creates visual interest throughout the day while ensuring the building feels both substantial and permeable.
By integrating commercial uses at ground level with new homes above, the building supports a lively streetscape and encourages a sense of community. The design balances functionality with character, providing adaptable spaces that respond to present needs while anticipating future change.
Higham Hill represents JUB STUDIO’s commitment to creating architecture that is responsive to its context, forward-looking in its material choices, and sensitive to the wider ambitions of urban regeneration.
