Pembridge Crescent is a mid-19th-century residential property positioned on the south side of Pembridge Crescent, within the designated Pembridge Conservation Area. The building forms part of a coherent group of substantial stucco-fronted detached and semi-detached villas that exemplify the area’s characteristic scale, consistent façade hierarchy, rhythmical fenestration, and unified materiality.
The street forms part of a wider architectural grouping developed in the 1850s by the Cullingford and Maidlow families, whose work is notable for its Romanesque and Italianate stylistic detailing.
Recognising the building’s contribution to the the Conservation Area and heritage significance of the crescent, a conservation-led approach was adopted to ensure an appropriate and sensitive response to the client’s brief.
